Core drilling is a highly precise and efficient method used to create perfectly cylindrical holes in hard surfaces. Unlike standard impact drilling, it utilizes a hollow, diamond-tipped bit that grinds away a circular “core” of material, leaving the surrounding structure intact and the interior edges smooth.

Our crews use either hand-held or rig-mounted, or hydraulic core drills based on the hole diameter, the depth of the material, and the workspace environment.

Besides cured concrete, our drills can core asphalt, masonry and stone, and reinforced concrete (including steel rebar and steel pan decking).

Absolutely! A major benefit of working with Intracut is that we provide a complete full service solution. All debris removal is handled by our sister company, Metropolis Disposal. As such, so you don’t have to worry about hiring another contractor.

Handheld Core Drills (< 4“ Diameter)

These portable units are designed for speed and accessibility in confined spaces. They are the ideal choice for creating smaller penetrations for electrical conduits, fiber optics, and plumbing lines where mounting a heavy rig is not practical or necessary.

Rig-Mounted Core Drilling (> 4“ Diameter)

For larger openings or deep structural holes, we utilize stand-mounted rigs bolted directly to the surface. This configuration provides the stability required to maintain a perfectly straight path through heavily reinforced slabs and walls, making it the standard for HVAC ducting and floor drains.
