Los Angeles Building Demolition Contractor

For 40+ years, Intracut has remained a top-tier choice for Los Angeles demolition projects. Whether you are a developer preparing a commercial lot or a homeowner ready for a fresh start, our team provides the heavy equipment and regulatory expertise you need.

From small-scale removals to massive structural demolitions, we provide the seasoned perspective to clear the way for your next project.

Customer FAQs:

Building demolition is the knock-down and systematic dismantling of an old structure to safely return the site to a buildable state.

Yes. We carry comprehensive General Liability and Workers’ Compensation insurance specifically tailored for high-risk demolition activities. We are also fully bonded and licensed to operate in this jurisdiction, ensuring that you, your property, and our crew are protected from any liability throughout the project.

Safety is our priority. Before any work begins, we require a hazardous materials survey. If asbestos, lead, or other toxins are identified, we coordinate with certified abatement specialists to safely remove and dispose of these materials according to environmental regulations before the main structural demolition starts.

If your project is a complete building demolition without any new construction, we handle the complete permit process with your city and the AQMD, testing for hazardous materials  prior to demolition.

We are committed to eco-friendly practices. Rather than sending everything to a landfill, we sort debris on-site to salvage recyclable materials such as concrete and steel. The demolition materials that are not separated onsite are taken to a Construction and Demolition sorting facility to be finely separated and recycled.  This reduces environmental impact and, in many cases, helps lower disposal fees for our clients.

Our goal is to leave you with a lot ready for your grading company to prepare it for new construction. Our standard service includes the removal of the structure, the concrete slab, and the footings. Once the debris is cleared, we backfill any excavations and grade the soil to provide a safe site ready for new construction.

Intracut’s Building Demolition Process

At Intracut, we don’t just “knock old buildings down.” We follow a systematic dismantling process that prioritizes site safety and your project’s timeline. By treating every building demolition as a precision engineering project, we ensure that surrounding structures and utilities remain undisturbed.

  • Pre-Demo Assessment: Engineering survey and utility disconnect verification.
  • Structural Dismantling: Controlled “top-down” removal using the proper equipment sized to meet the site and structural conditions of the building to be removed.
  • Foundation Extraction: Complete removal of footings, slabs, and underground obstructions.
  • Final Grading: Smoothing the earth to provide a level, “build-ready” footprint.

Navigating Los Angeles Permits & Regulations

The most difficult part of a Los Angeles building demolition is often the red tape. Intracut acts as your regulatory partner, managing the strict requirements of local agencies so your project doesn’t face costly delays or fines.

  • LADBS Coordination: We handle the “Notice of Demolition” and required city inspections if you do not have a general contractor.
  • AQMD Rule 1403: Strict adherence to asbestos, dust mitigation and air quality standards.
  • Utility Kill Letters: Assistance in securing official shut-off notices from LADWP and SoCalGas if you do not have a general contractor.
  • Noise & Dust Mitigation: Implementation of plans to to minimize noise and dust pollution and maintain positive community relations.

Pro Tip

Always verify your “Kill Letters” are finalized 14 days before the wrecking crew arrives. Intracut helps you track these milestones to prevent start-date delays.

Site Clearing & Debris Management

A successful building demolition service ends with a clean slate. Intracut manages the massive volume of waste generated during a teardown, focusing on high-speed removal and environmental responsibility.

  • Concrete Crushing: We process concrete and asphalt for potential on-site reuse or certified recycling.
  • Metal Recovery: Efficient sorting and hauling of structural steel, copper, and aluminum.
  • Rapid Haul-Away: We utilize a coordinated fleet of trucks from our sister company, Metropolis Disposal, to clear debris immediately after dismantling.
  • Sustainability Goals: Detailed documentation provided for projects requiring specific recycling percentages.
