Project Overview
Graymark Capital recently acquired the former Anthem Blue headquarters in Westlake Village, CA. This 98,776-square-foot building is being transformed into Westlake Labs, a new life science building.
Since October 2023, Intracut has been working with HITT Contracting on this project, to which Intracut is proud to contribute.
Scope of Work
Our work began with precision flat sawing. We handled over 2,000 linear feet of trenches, 2 feet wide with a 4-to-6-inch concrete slab for plumbing, ensuring seamless utility integration.
Demolition was another critical aspect of the project. Our team skillfully saw-cut trenches of various dimensions, including trenches measuring 10 feet by 2 feet by 6 inches and 5 feet by 2 feet by 6 inches, laying the groundwork for future enhancements. We also flat-sawed 80 linear feet of a 4″ by 6″ concrete slab for a new ramp landing in front of the building’s main entrance.
We also removed ductwork, soffits, fire extinguishers, cabinets, furred metal stud walls, louvers, and stair handrails. We broke and removed concrete trenches at the south building using a bobcat and hauled away the broken concrete to be recycled with the help of our sister company, Metropolis Disposal.
Our expertise extended to removing CMU equipment enclosures and coiling tower piping, including fifteen saw cuts of 4″-6″ of lightweight concrete over the metal deck for new openings. We also expertly managed floor and roof openings, ensuring precise cuts for new installations and structural modifications. For the elevator opening on the second floor, we flat-sawed two sides, facilitating the seamless integration of new systems and equipment.
Equipment Used
The equipment used for this project included a gas flat saw, bobcat, chipping gun, electric push saw, compressor, blades, a gradall with a hopper, and a 60-foot boom lift.
Collaboration & Dedication
Throughout the project, safety and efficiency remained at the forefront of our operations. We seamlessly integrated with other trades, collaborating to meet project timelines and specifications. Whether using specialized equipment like scissor lifts and wall saws or meticulously hand sawing and breaking concrete, our team upheld its commitment to quality and client satisfaction.
Intracut remains dedicated to its mission of delivering excellence in concrete cutting and demolition as the transformation unfolds. Our partnership with HITT Contracting Inc. underscores our reliability and capability to execute complex projects with precision.
