Project Overview

When executing structural modifications at an iconic corporate facility like the Vans Headquarters, there is no room for error. Intracut proudly partnered with California Skateparks to deliver a highly technical, fast-tracked concrete cutting, breaking, and removal operation.

The project demanded surgical precision, heavy-duty capability, and an accelerated timeline to complete massive structural changes safely while maintaining a seamless, undisrupted workflow on-site.

Engineering & Technical Scope of Work

Tackling heavily reinforced, industrial-grade concrete slabs and high-profile walls requires a strategic blend of heavy infrastructure breaking and precision saw cutting. The team executed a rigorous scope with flawless accuracy:

The scope included:

  • Slab Breaking & Extraction: Demolished and cleared 2,700 square feet of dense, 6″ to 8″ thick concrete slab on grade through meticulous logistical planning and structural staging.
  • Precision Vertical Wall Sawing: Utilized specialized high-cycle wall saws to deliver clean, continuous cuts through a massive structural concrete wall measuring 10’6″ x 15′ with an imposing 14-inch depth, spanning 52 linear feet.
  • Targeted Mass Removal: Dislodged, broke down, and fully removed an additional 159 square feet sectional block of the 10’6″ x 15′ x 14″ deep concrete structure.

Operational Fleet & Rigorous Safety Standards

Operating within a high-profile corporate environment meant safety and debris containment were paramount. Our elite crew deployed an optimized layout of specialized equipment to maintain maximum efficiency:

Our team managed:

  • The Crew: Spearheaded by a Project Foreman, an expert Wall Saw Operator, and a highly versatile Helper Laborer / Bobcat Operator.
  • Heavy Assets Deployed: Industrial Bobcat units and compact Mini-Excavators, for heavy structural muck-out, alongside an on-site Scissor Lift from PDQ rentals for safe overhead monitoring and high-wall access.
  • Site Protection & Logistics: Advanced structural protection materials were laid out to completely shield adjacent corporate properties from debris. All extracted concrete waste was continuously processed, loaded out, and recycled using high-capacity 10-yard debris bins.

The Result: A Masterclass in Concrete Contracting

Completed on time and with zero safety incidents, this project perfectly showcases Intracut’s ability to handle high-stakes concrete demolition under strict deadlines. Every cut was millimeter-perfect, and the massive volume of slab and structural concrete was efficiently cleared away, leaving the site pristine and structurally prepared.

We extend our sincere thanks to Brian Pino of California Skateparks for his outstanding partnership, coordination, and trust throughout this project. Collaborating with teams that share our commitment to high-quality standards enables us to consistently reinforce our reputation as the region’s premier specialists in concrete cutting and heavy removal services.
