Rivian Service Center Demolition Project

General Contractor

Dome Construction

Project Overview

Rivian Automotive recently acquired a building in Van Nuys to become a new service center. This building was previously a warehouse.

We were tasked with a large-scale selective demolition job across the office, mezzanine, and warehouse, as well as significant roof and hard demolition work. Our skilled crew, consisting of a foreman, lead man, and laborers, utilized specialized equipment such as man lifts, bobcats, and floor scrapers to expertly handle every aspect of the project from start to finish.

Here’s a detailed look at what they accomplished:

Scope of Work

  • Interior Demolition: Office Area & the Mezzanine: We removed existing floor finishes, dismantled ceilings, removed the partition wall, removed doors and frame and millwork, and created an opening for a new door. We also removed the demising wall of the warehouse & the roll-up door.
  • Hard Demolition: Interior Concrete Slab Cutting & Removal: We flat sawed concrete slab on grade, and broke and removed from the warehouse.
  • Roof Demolition: We created two openings on the wood roof to accommodate new RTUs and equipment.
