Project Overview & Scope

When Toneman Development Corporation needed a demolition contractor capable of handling both large-scale soft demolition and aggressive structural concrete removal under one contract, they called Intracut.

The Edgewood Center demolition project in Azusa, CA demanded manpower, equipment, coordination, and endurance, and Intracut delivered from start to finish over a 35+ day operation.

This was not a light, selective demo project. It was a full interior and exterior transformation.

Soft Demolition Details

Our crews removed 430 linear feet of partition walls, 89 doors and frames, storefront systems, 290 linear feet of sliding glass doors, windows, mechanical fixtures, and critical building components — all while maintaining strict safety and site control.

We stripped 26,250 square feet of roofing down to plywood, removed additional roof areas to accommodate new additions, demolished 5,200 square feet of stucco, and opened up 7,790 square feet of ceiling joists in corridors.

Every phase required precision, coordination with other trades, and careful sequencing to keep the project moving forward without disruption.

Hard Demolition Details

The hard demolition phase intensified the scope. Intracut executed 500 linear feet of electric flat sawing through 4”–6” slab-on-grade, followed by over 1,250 square feet of slab break and removal.

We sawcut and removed a 2,380-linear-foot plumbing trench at 24 inches wide, broke out concrete walkways totaling 5,200 square feet, and cut and removed structural slab openings — including a 5’ x 5’ penetration through reinforced concrete.

This phase demanded heavy equipment, multiple Bobcats, compressors with operators, electric flat saw systems, labor vacuum systems, and continuous haul-off coordination that resulted in multiple Super 10 truckloads of concrete leaving the site.

Executing Complex Demolition

With a dedicated field team consisting of a foreman, lead man, skilled laborers, and trash-out crews, Intracut maintained production momentum while upholding strict safety standards and site protection.

Our ability to seamlessly integrate demolition precision with high-volume structural concrete removal demonstrates why general contractors rely on Intracut for complex, multi-phase demolition projects.
