Pyramid Labs Concrete Cutting & Breaking Project

Project Overview

Intracut was selected by CRB Builders to perform specialized concrete cutting and structural breaking services as part of the Early Demo Scope at the Pyramid Laboratories facility in Costa Mesa, CA.

This project required precision cutting, controlled demolition, and efficient material removal to prepare the site for upcoming construction activities.

To align with the overall construction schedule, the demolition work was strategically completed in three separate intervals, as required by the general contractor.

This phased approach allowed other trades to progress while ensuring demolition activities were performed safely, efficiently, and without disrupting ongoing operations.

Concrete Cutting & Breaking Scope

Our team’s primary focus was delivering accurate saw cutting and safe structural removal across both interior and exterior areas:

The scope included:

• Flat sawing 4″–6″ concrete slab on grade to create a new 6′ × 6′ opening
• Breaking and removal of concrete slab on grade following saw cuts
• Concrete curb removal below partition walls and at exterior locations
• Demolition of CMU walls and concrete enclosure slab areas
• Breaking and removal of stair and platform structures, including soil export
• Removal of chain link fencing to support site access and site reconfiguration

By combining precision saw cutting with controlled mechanical breaking, Intracut ensured clean edges, minimized vibration impacts to surrounding structures, and maintained a safe work environment throughout each phase of the project.

Equipment & Crew Deployment

To execute the work efficiently, Intracut mobilized:

• Experienced Foreman and labor crew
• Professional flat saw operator and equipment
• Bobcat equipped with a hydraulic breaker for controlled demolition
• Multiple debris bins for concrete and soil export

Performance & Results

Working across three scheduled mobilization intervals, the Intracut team completed all demolition activities safely, on schedule, and in coordination with CRB Builders’ project sequencing.

Our expertise in concrete cutting and controlled demolition ensured precise removals, minimized disruption to ongoing operations, and kept the project moving forward efficiently toward the next phase of construction.
