Project Details

In Westlake Village, California, Graymark Capital recently acquired a 98,776 square foot building which is slated to become the location of their lab in the area.

Since October 2023, HITT Contracting has called on Intracut to reshape Graymark Westlake Labs’ infrastructure.

The former headquarters of Anthem Blue Cross, this facility is undergoing a significant transformation to be suitable for the life sciences, a project spearheaded by HITT Contracting to which Intracut was proud to contribute.

The project began with precision flat sawing. Intracut handled over 2000 linear feet of trenches 2 feet wide with 4 to 6 inches of concrete slab for plumbing, ensuring seamless utility integration throughout the facility.

Demolition was another critical aspect of the project; the team skillfully executed saw cuts for various dimensions, including trenches measuring 10 feet by 2 feet by 6 inches and 5 feet by 2 feet by 6 inches, laying the groundwork for future enhancements, and flat sawing 80 linear feet of 4″ by 6″ concrete slab for a new ramp landing in front of the main entrance to the building.

Intracut removed ductwork, soffits, fire extinguishers and cabinets, furred metal stud walls, and removed louvers and stair handrails. We broke & removed concrete trenches at the south building using a bobcat and hauled away the broken concrete to be recycled with the help of our sister company Metropolis Disposal, clearing the path for modernization.

The team’s expertise extended to removing CMU equipment enclosures coiling tower piping, including fifteen saw cuts of 4″-6″ of lightweight concrete over the metal deck for new openings.

Additionally, Intracut expertly managed floor and roof openings, ensuring precise cuts for new installations and structural modifications, flat sawing two sides for the elevator opening on the second floor, and facilitating seamless integration of new systems and equipment at Graymark Westlake Labs.

Moreover, the team undertook intricate tasks such as saw cutting for elevator pits and floor drains, ensuring that every detail aligned with Graymark Westlake Labs’s exacting standards.

The team seamlessly integrated with other trades, collaborating to meet project timelines and specifications.

Safety and efficiency remained at the forefront of the operations throughout the project. Whether using specialized equipment like scissor lifts and wall saws or meticulously hand sawing and breaking concrete, the team upheld the commitment to quality and client satisfaction.

Intracut remains dedicated to its mission of delivering excellence in concrete cutting and demolition as the transformation unfolds. Its partnership with HITT Contracting Inc. underscores its reliability and capability to execute complex projects precisely.

The equipment used for this project includes a gas flat saw, bobcat, chipping gun, electric push saw, compressor, blades, a gradall with a hopper, and a 60-foot boom lift.

Intracut continues our work at Graymark Westlake Labs with characteristic dedication to excellence and precision, and we remain committed to ensuring the job goes smoothly and safely to the completion of the project.
