Project Overview:
Intracut is proud to have completed a fast-track demolition and site preparation project for Holdfast at the Erewhon location in Glendale, CA. This project successfully delivered on schedule in July 2025.
Scope of Work:
The comprehensive scope included:
- Removal of over 35,000 square feet of asphalt paving and base in both the carport alley and the main site
- Breaking and removal of 1,000+ square feet of concrete slab on grade
- Flat-saw removal of 148 linear feet for new CMU wall footings
- Selective demolition of concrete curbs, ramps, steps, planters, gates, bollards, trees, and an electrical enclosure
- Removal of inlets and 414 square feet of landscaping
Building Demolition: Storefront, Canopy, and Roof Work
Intracut’s team also handled extensive building-related demolition:
- Dismantled 139 linear feet of storefront and stem wall (footing to remain)
- Removed storefront doors
- Took down 935 square feet of roof canopy and framing
- Removed 191 linear feet of roof screens, four rooftop units, and 17,736 square feet of roofing (down to the plywood, assuming non-hazardous insulation)
Site Protection and Safety Measures
To protect the site, we installed 873 linear feet of perimeter sandbags, stacked three bags high, ensuring proper containment and safety throughout the demolition process.
Equipment and Crew Used
To meet the aggressive timeline, Intracut deployed:
- One foreman
- Five laborers
- A wall saw operator
- Two Bobcats
- A boom lift and two scissor lifts
- Chainsaws
- Super 10 trucks for debris and base hauling
- Multiple 40-yard bins for waste and green waste disposal
